PARENTING TIP: What should parents teach their kids?

There is an unspoken rule in photography.

It says :

After going to the location, don’t set up the tripod first and mount your camera.

If you do so, the movement of your camera gets limited. You cannot explore all of the location as you wish.

Your movement will be heavily controlled by your tripod. You have to do what it says or carry your tripod mounted camera as you walk, both of which are difficult.

The right way is

Go the location and explore for a while with the camera in your hand.

Take some sample photos handheld.

Check the framing and the subject.

And once you are sure that is the one, then unzip your bag, setup the tripod and take that photo.

So what parents should do is:

Let their kids explore

Let them try out different things, find out what is good and comfortable for them, analyse what will be the best field twenty years later and then come back to you with options.

You can then discuss with them the pros and cons.

Training them rightaway for engineering or medicine or IITs at an age when they don’t know where their fascination lies in stifles(hides) their goals and creativity.

It locks their freedom and exploration.

Hence let them wander and figure out what would be best for them.

It is their life after all.

What do you say ?

Please Comment your thought. I will really appreciate it.
